Environmental Policy
Commitment
Norvica Logistics recognises that freight transport has an environmental impact, and we are committed to managing and reducing that impact, to complying with applicable environmental law and regulations, and to continual improvement. This policy applies to all our activities and personnel and informs how we work with carriers, suppliers, and clients.
Our main impacts
As a logistics provider, our principal environmental aspects are: greenhouse-gas emissions and air pollutants from air, road, and sea transport; fuel and energy use; packaging and waste; paper and consumables; and the risk of spills or contamination, particularly when handling hazardous goods.
What we do
- Efficient transport. We plan routes and consolidate loads to reduce empty running and unnecessary mileage, choose the appropriate transport mode for each shipment, and — where it is feasible for the cargo and the deadline — favour lower-emission options.
- Work with our partners. We take environmental performance into account when selecting carriers, warehouses, and sub-contractors, and we encourage them to improve.
- Use energy responsibly. We use energy carefully in our offices and any facilities under our control and look for practical efficiency improvements.
- Reduce waste and packaging. We reduce, reuse, and recycle where we can, keep packaging to what is needed to protect the cargo, and dispose of waste responsibly and lawfully.
- Go digital. We use electronic documentation to cut paper use.
- Prevent pollution. We handle, store, and transport goods — especially dangerous goods — so as to prevent spills and contamination, and we maintain spill-response arrangements.
- Buy responsibly. Where practical, we consider environmental impact in what we procure.
- Raise awareness. We make our people aware of this policy and of their part in delivering it.
Objectives and monitoring
We set practical environmental objectives appropriate to the size of our business, monitor how we are doing against them, and review them periodically.
Responsibility and review
Norvica’s management is responsible for this policy, provides the resources to implement it, and reviews it at least annually.
This policy is maintained by the management of Norvica Logistics. For questions, or to report a concern, contact info@norvica.ae. Norvica may update this policy from time to time; the version published here is the current one.
