Child Labour Policy

Effective May 2026 Reviewed annually

Purpose and commitment

Norvica Logistics does not use child labour and does not knowingly work with anyone who does. We are committed to respecting children’s rights consistent with the UAE Labour Law (Federal Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021 and its implementing regulations) and with International Labour Organization Conventions No. 138 (Minimum Age) and No. 182 (Worst Forms of Child Labour). This policy applies to our own operations and to suppliers, agents, sub-contractors, and other business partners.

Definitions

A child is anyone below the legal minimum working age — and in no case below 15 — or below the age for completing compulsory schooling, where that is higher. A young worker is a worker above the minimum age but under 18. Child labour is work that deprives children of their childhood, their potential, or their dignity, or that is harmful to their physical or mental development or to their schooling.

Prohibition

We do not employ children. We do not permit children to perform any work for Norvica, and we will not knowingly use a supplier or sub-contractor that does. No one under 18 may perform hazardous work — including operating forklifts or lifting equipment, handling dangerous goods, working at height, night work, or other work likely to harm health, safety, or morals.

Young workers

Where young workers (16–17) are lawfully employed, we comply with all the protections the law requires: restricted hours, no hazardous tasks, any necessary permissions and medical checks, and arrangements that do not interfere with their education.

We likewise prohibit forced, bonded, and trafficked labour in our operations and supply chain. The protections in this policy are applied alongside that prohibition.

Suppliers and sub-contractors

We expect business partners to meet at least the standards in this policy. We may ask them to confirm their compliance, and we may decline to work with — or stop working with — a partner where child labour is found and not remediated.

Remediation

If we discover a child working in our operations or supply chain, the child’s best interests come first. We will remove the child from the workplace, seek to support their safe return to education or training and to address their family’s circumstances, and tackle the conditions that allowed it to happen — rather than simply ending the contract and leaving the child worse off.

Reporting

Anyone who becomes aware of child labour connected to Norvica should report it to Norvica management. Reports are investigated, and people who report in good faith are protected from retaliation.

Breaches

Breaching this policy may lead to disciplinary action up to and including dismissal, termination of supplier relationships, and referral to the authorities.

This policy is maintained by the management of Norvica Logistics. For questions, or to report a concern, contact info@norvica.ae. Norvica may update this policy from time to time; the version published here is the current one.
